On 26th May 2020, Gwynne Harris passed away peacefully aged 74. Gwynne was wife to the late David Harris of Farm Cottage, Ellerdine, Shropshire.
David and Gwynne with their son Peter owned the highly respected pedigree herd of Ellerdine Jerseys up to until the family took the decision after a lifetime of milking to disperse the herd in 2007. The Ellerdine Herd was at the fore of the breed for many years and had bred many great individuals including a Royal Show Champion, Ellerdine Lester Amberlight 2nd (Ex93-2E) who won the accolade for their owners Smiddiehill Jerseys.
The Ellerdine herd in its day had been commercially managed, achieving an average of 5963 kg milk at 5.69% butterfat and 3.87% protein.
The family will be holding a private funeral on Monday 8th June 2020.
